Yes the bass is solid I agree with the previous reviews. Only flaw I found for my large room I did separate the speakers to get the sound everywhere that I need it, is that it sounds a little in the distant. I am impressed with the sound that this system puts out. If you are expecting high end quality it’s not there, but for the price this is a good sound system. If you need more volume than what the TV provides this is perfect. The subwoofer LEDs can be set to blink to the beat, look like an EQ spectrum analyzer, or change colors .
I hooked these up to a 10 year old Sony 7. 1 receiver, set the receiver up for 5. 1 and was very disappointed in the audio quality of these speakers, in particular the center channel speaker. Sometimes a more general term will lead you to the similar products. As any true audiophile will attest, the Mark Levinson name is synonymous with audio purity. So when we design a piece of equipment, perfection isn’t the goal but the starting point. I was also unfortunately a bit disappointed by the build quality of the sound bar itself as well as the remote. I have always in my mind figured that sound bars could not be as good as bookshelf speakers but man this setup goes hard. I consider myself a bit of an audiophile not to an extreme extent but audio quality is very important to medespite my preconceived notions this soundbar/subwoofer is bangin good. I would really recommend picking up an extra spool of speaker wire because they give you JUST ENOUGH for all the included ones. If you miscalculate a wire measurement or have a really big room you’re setting this up in, you will probably need the extra. This took me a couple days to figure out.
I prefer quieter pieces of music so at first I only got small hints of the abilities of the SB-1000 subwoofer. These speakers performed wonderfully. I had been thinking of upgrading my speaker system for some time. I learned about SVS through Sound & Vision magazine.
I’m not really hearing the stereo experience like I do with a regular stereo set of speakers or using headphones.
